Y'all Tired Yet?

Black Voters Matter co-founder LaTosha Brown joins Michael Harriot to talk about protecting your peace and sanity while fighting to protect your power and humanity.

Are you OK?

Whether you’re fighting for justice and equality or trying to fulfill the ancestors’ wildest dreams, surviving America’s 248-year-old quest to make itself great white again can be exhausting. While Black people don’t have the luxury of not resisting, it is also OK to feel anxious, apprehensive and downright exasperated.

Perhaps no one in America understands this more than grassroots organizer, philanthropic consultant, political strategist and Black Voters Matter co-founder LaTosha Brown.

ContrabandCamp is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

Aside from being a literal day-one ContrabandCamper, Brown has dedicated her life to building Black power. As a political strategist and organizer, she is credited with changing the course of the 2020 elections and revamping the political map. She has never been reluctant to speak truth to power, calling out Elon Musk’s Nazi salute, Donald Trump ain’t shitness and the Democratic Party.

Because Brown is also outspoken about the need for mental health awareness and self-care, she sat down with Michael Harriot to talk about how she balances the never-ending fight for power and our collective humanity with the all-too-human struggles that sometimes make us feel powerless.
