I am so pissed off but I have been on this earth as a Black woman long enough to have known this was coming. Also as a Black woman I am not yet ready to rise up. We did our part. We told folks what was coming. Joy told folks yet here we are. I will miss her on MSNBC but they are digging their own grave along with the rest of mainstream media. Joy Reid will continue to be a treasure to us. We've got her back. Always.

Trump said fake news is an unpardonable sin at the end of his tweet. Yet he pardoned the January 6ers. The devil is a lie 😂

Thank you for writing this. I for one (as a white woman), will miss getting to know the perspective of this bold and brilliant Black woman (and all her correspondents) on the culture and news surrounding us. Joy is a voice I will miss (along with Alex and Ayman) and I wrote a scathing Karen letter to the MSNBC manager re: their anticipatory racism and getting rid of all the BIPOC voices on the network. Man, I'm done with them.

Once again, you nailed it perfectly!!! God don’t like ugly. Not sure if this is in the Bible. But, I bet your Aunt Marvell quotes it. MSNBC will regret their decision. Mark my words!! #WeLoveJoy #WeGotJoy

Like your Aunt I love the Reidout. With all the other firings at MSNBC I am not sure what the station will look like. I will be moving toward basic cable and acquiring more services like Contraband Camp for my news.

I too love Joy-Ann Reid, Michelle Obama, and Keke Palmer.

I bought a signed copy of Medgar and Myrlie as soon as it came out.

What is being done by the networks and corporate media will not be forgotten.

I agree with you, may God damn them all.

Preach it. I always welcome your voice. Your perspective is historically grounded and unerring. And you know your way around a sentence and a story. Thank you.

Let the white folks have each other. They never deserved us in the first place. While I hate to lump em all, I would be lying if I said I’m not leery of every single one I come across until they show me otherwise, and even then, I’m still going to give them the bombastic side eye 😒

"They never deserved us in the first place." On this we can agree.

I want smarter or equivalent in journalism as I am - part of the "elites" - Joy Ann Reid fit that bill and then some. She gave voice to people I never saw on anyone else's show. She highlighted our community in ways I wouldn't have known.

I've seen MSNBC fire black women for little or no cause. It certainly isn't because we don't exemplify Black Excellence.

Joy Reid was the reason I had Sling. I've cancelled. Nothing good will come of deleting our needed voices.

Hiring the people who were “let go” (ugh) and a few others also freed up, I hope a wealthy wise person will create another network that will sink msnbc & the designed-to-be-propaganda channel.

So distraught at what is happening in America. Joy Anne Reid has taught this old white woman about white privilege and what it means to be black in this country. I have followed her since she covered the Travon Martin murder. I will follow her and all black women to lead us out of this horror. They, along with black men are the true patriots who love this country despite how they have been treated. I stand firmly behind them and will follow their lead.

Perfect response Michael! I’d love to see a network (uh, hello MSNBC?) tell Donald Trump “As for me and my house…!”

Just tuned in to watch Joy's last show and I won't miss her on MSNBC because they just got the Kendrick Lamar remote treatment.

See you on the Indy side, Joy.

Same, I tuned in for Joy’s last show. I came to know her on the weekend, AM Joy and followed her to prime time. I turned off MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN bc they lacked courage. They capitulated to drumpf; they normalized the abnormal. They made themselves the no longer free press. Joy will land somewhere and I will be happy to tune in. I know she is brave and will continue to speak the truth.
