I am sure this is true because it's been my lived experience in the work place. I had my boss or a VP torpedo programs I was working on to stop (in their minds) me, which was actually the business and not me, from doing well (making money, making a team more efficient, getting more contracts) due to whatever ism was in their head. None of them experienced negative repercussions. None of them understood, nor cared about the business harm or loss - sound familiar? They kept their jobs and or even got promoted.
Because I saw this phenomenon over and over again, I'm not surprised this is where we are as a country.
Ask yourself this question of let's say a left leaning person - do you think all people - minorities, legal immigrants - deserve health care? More people than you would think, would say no. Hence our current president.
This right here is why this country is being torpedoed. When you do not accept that you are connected to others, you are okay with being cruel to them. But, you ARE connected to others, so what happens to them happens to you. That you want harm to happen to others is an issue of epic mental crisis. It is a sickness.

And yet, so many of our population purports to embrace a faith that is contrary to caring about those less fortunate.
