Funny and insightful. The double standard point was eloquently made and there are words that other ethnic groups use to refer to each other as terms of endearment that would be insults coming from other people. The n-word is no different. I not only refrain from using the word around people who are not Black, I will not use it around Black people who are not members of my immediate family, bascially my wife and children who are all adults. I feel that the N-word is the linguistic equivalent of AI. Everyone thinks that they can control how it is used, but the quickly find out - as Kendrick did in the example you used - that they cannot.

They will argue this point until they're blue in the face. It's sad, really.

Not feeling the N word regardless of how it's spelled or who says it. The N word for me is a big fat MFN NO! NOPE! NFW! NEVER!

You’re more intelligent than me, you have experiences I’ve never had, but I truly believe racism is why Trump gets elected.

Trump hasn’t given his voters much beyond their ability to use racial epithets with impunity.

I think if you want the feelings behind the misuse of a word to go away, just quit using the word.

Actually, Trump has gone a long ways toward giving his racist MAGA worshippers what they want.

For example, he has made Black women and girls the LEAST employable demographic in America. In fact, under these new "enforcements" (for lack of a better word), any company that hires ANYONE over a white male can face a lawsuit brought by Trump's DoJ, so why even consider anyone other than a white male? (Likely to soon also include "heterosexual" and "Christian" requirements.)

This poor woman is so obsessed with Trump, MAGA and racist hate that she's willing to present and promote a program that she, as a woman, has ZERO access to.

I completely agree. I thought I’d keep my response to a single issue. However, as a woman who always worked, so had a myriad of incidents, also reproductive problems Trump/Republican has caused enormous harm for all women.

Oh yes, Suki, so many things!

I'm old enough to have grown as a person by being exposed to a living Dr. King. But everything he did is now gone, and all done by Trump out of hate. Even Dr. King's legacy seems almost entirely absent now, or at least it would seem here in the deep south. (Yes, I also confess to a "single-topic focus".)

I apologize for making an incorrect and improper assumption. Thank you for teaching me.

The explanation is fine, though some of the analogies aren't comparable. Someone randomly walking into your house and getting in your bed isn't remotely the same as intentionally creating content and then getting upset when some of your customers use it in the way you intended.

Bottom line for me: just stop using the fucking word. Defending the use of a racial slur that was specifically created to dehumanize us and liken us to livestock is truly insane. Do you see Jews calling each other "kike?" What about Chinese saying "chink?" Or Latinos calling each other "spics?" Of course you don't because it's fucking stupid to refer to yourself by a term coined by your racist oppressors. Yet we insist on feeding ourselves this fallacy/fantasy that we've rehabilitated a slur and made it a term of endearment. That's bullshit and everyone knows it.

You want to stop having these asinine conversations about who can and cannot say it: STOP SAYING IT! No one should use that vile word, us included.

“All Lives Matter,”

My measure would be two Americans standing side-by-side.

One, a Black Muslim lesbian.

The other, a white Christian male.

And I would ask MAGA, "Can you honestly say that you would assign exactly equal value to both of these lives, as Jesus would have done, and would still do?"

This was hilarious, and on point! Instead of fighting for the right to comfortably use the enword, whyt people should be grateful because they are free to use various racial vulgarisms like Uncle Tom, House Negro, Sambo, and Coon. They’re just being greedy. Plus, there are no racial vulgarisms for whyt people that we are invited to use. If we write cr@cker without a mask they lose their minds.

This is not rocket science. No deep analysis required.White people should never, ever, ever use the N word. Full stop.
