Thank you! This helped me to put words to what I had been thinking and feeling. I think I have been one of those naive white, 60+ aged women who could not seem to grasp the cruelty of our current society. I have always known that our nation was, and has always been deeply racist, I had just believed (erroneously), that our society was progressing into a more equitable society. Now, not even the rule of law is being followed. I hope that this “racist, hateful, cruel “ era will somehow wake all of us up to this reality that has existed since the founding of our nation, and help those who are much more intelligent than I to begin to find a way out of this nightmare. I feel that the work toward freedom for everyone, and equality for all will no longer have to take one step forward, three steps backward.
Good points. The question, as always, seems to be whether anything good comes from this. Interesting to see that photo. I used an almost identical one two weeks after the 2016 election to point out the male whiteness on display.
Yes sir great article. Thanks for writing what we knew America is racist and learned to tolerate us. Black people's voices have always been a problem for America.
"Trust me, if white people didn’t want a racist, sexist, idiot for president, Donald Trump wouldn’t stand a chance."
Welp.
Wow wow wow. This is so good.
So good! Tells it like it is -- as all you write does. I very much appreciate your work!! Keep writing. Keep informing.
