Sorry to miss this live but thank you for the humor and the truth… I love the culottes parable 😂 and will order the Black AF History PB from Bookshop! 🔥
Such a great live thus am! I loved the analogies relating personal childhood experiences and memories to today’s current events 💯. Plus I was able to identify with much of what you presented Michael and in comical detail lol 😂. Too funny! I heard classism, culturalism and community! I can relate to the backyard BBQ pit, the dirt bikes and such,as we experienced these identical times when I was a kid. Is it something or an idea shared by all of us? Were there such strong communicative practices in Black spaces, that spread across neighborhoods, regardless of how much distance between them?…. It seems we had much commonalities among us… which is what’s missing these days, in my opinion. Even the “dress codes”! My dad was a skilled carpenter who worked WITH (not for) a white man who owned a masonry company. After years of working together, my dad propositioned him to purchase that business for 500$. The transaction was successful, enabling dad to become a duel businessman, providing employment for other Black families to support their own households! This gave my family an advantage but we were taught that we had to “work” to get our allowance on weekends, eventually teaching us to understand nothing comes without cost! But our parents also showed us how to help others who maybe less fortunate than we were! This stuck with me even until this very day! I’m still working to help our kids learn skills needed to achieve success especially in academia and to enable them to compete with others in any profession they choose to pursue 💯. And when you know and believe you can become THAT PERSON!, you’ll always think and speak as if you’re THAT PERSON! I think I digressed ! 😂 but it happens a lotta times when I have so much to say! I asked people, often, “Why do you think the Angel instructed Mary & Joseph to take baby Jesus to Egypt”…. I refer to Egypt as “Ancient Kemet”…. Plz give ur thoughts on that question if you don’t mind! Gosh I can say more but it’s ur feed Michael! lol. I’ll leave this right here…. Peace ✌🏾 ✊🏾💙🕊️
