CRT For HOTD: A Breakdown of the Political Parties on 'House of the Dragon' S3, E03
Democratic Socialists of Westeros, conservative evangelical leaders and Black voters in Westeros respond to the latest episode of "House of the Dragon."
Will Rhaenyra appoint Zohran Mamdani as Hand of the King? Should Ketanji Brown Jackson replace the recently “retired” Lord Jasper Wylde as chief justice of the Westeros Supreme Court? Will billionaires relocate to the Free Cities rather than pay their fair share in taxes? Can the new administration “drain the swamp” of all the ascension deniers inside the government?
These are just a few of the themes explored on this week’s episode of the world’s most popular Sunday political show, “House of the Dragon.”
Titled “Rhaenyra Triumphant,” the third episode of season three offered an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the problems facing the Iron Throne’s newest caretaker. To get a more objective picture of the political landscape in the Seven Kingdoms, ContrabandCamp asked a diverse group of political leaders and grassroots activists to share their thoughts on Rhaenyra’s first few days in office.

“Integrity, morals and ethics.
Rhaenyra can’t be an effective ruler if she believes in that bullshit.”

Like her father and former Hand of the King, Otto Hightower, the dowager queen has served under multiple administrations, each with its own political philosophy. Even though she is a registered Democrat and considers herself a feminist, Alicent believes in the No. 1 rule of Carville-Clinton-era politics:
Win at all costs.
